Retta and Scott Engaged

I've know Retta for let's see.....maybe 10 years! She and I were on our high schools dance team together. Motion Inc. is what they called us and we were the best. Okay I'm not sure if that's a bias thought but who cares this is my blog right? Motion Inc. kicked ass! Retta has always been a gentle soul and a kind listener. Recently Retta and her fiance Scott moved to the west coast so when they joined me at The GetUp one evening I hopped at the chance to ask to be there photographer.

A couple months later we met at Las Brisas Restuarnat in Laguna Beach and started our session. It was really cold and windy but they were troopers. By the way if you are ever in Laguna you should eat there its pretty darn delicious and they give you a ton of food. Anywho check the pics and leave a comment, I'd love to hear from ya :)

The Stroebel Family

The Stroebel's are adorable!! I met them at Aliso Beach a couple of weeks ago before they went off to pick out their christmas tree. Rhonda and Robert have made the cutest kids let me tell ya. It was alot of fun watching Dominque run around so care free. And miss Elayna was so precious in her dress. The session was pretty quick so the little ones wouldn't get bored but they knocked it out the park. Rhonda and Robert will be moving back to NorCal pretty soon to be closer to family. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer. SoCal will miss you guys, but I know there's nothing like being close to family :)

Maralle & Mark Nyquist

Maralle and Mark have been married for a couple of months now but have been together since college. Their spirits compliment one another. And you can tell they have that old school type of love. That through thick and thin type.....the I found the girl of my dreams and moved to California with her type of love (wink wink). One day while Maralle and I had lunch we caught up on each others lives and laughed and reminisced. I asked her when she knew Mark was the one...she simply replied that she knew right away. Now that's what I'm talkin about lol. Their souls found one another and never let go. Anytime I have the pleasure of seeing these two I giggle inside cause of their cuteness. Thanks for spending time with me guys :)

The last picture is my favorite!!

Eat Your Heart Out pt.2

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ashley Michelle is a beast in the kitchen! While we were designing the shoot I ate and nibbled until I couldn't taste test any more. I mean it's okay to eat delicious treats at 1a.m. as long as your having fun and shooting right?! I can't say enough about her amazing creations. These little babies are a great gift for the holidays. You can check out Ashley Michelle's blog. Drop her a line....or a box or two or three...I'm just sayin :)

Jasmine Star Workshop

I have been following Jasmine Star's photo blog for about a year now. I fell in love with the way she spoke about her clients. I loved how she was completely in love with photography. She inspired me to push myself and we'd never met. So naturally when I found out she was hosting a workshop in November I quickly registered knowing that the seats would sell out faster than a Janet concert. How could I not jump at the chance to learn from someone that I admired so much?!

The workshop was an unbelievable experience to say the least. Jasmine and her husband JD were so incredibly humble and welcoming. I honestly feel that I am a better photographer from what I learned. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me and helping me better identify who I am and what I can do with my craft :)

                                                            Check out Jasmine at work.

Leave a comment I'd love to hear what you think :)

Newborn: Stella Cruz

November 17th was the due date, but on October 11th 2009 Ms. Stella Cruz Thedford came into this world with her arms stretched out wide. I couldn't wait to meet her and now I can't wait to watch her grow. Last weekend Stella had her first photo shoot and I had my first try at shooting a newborn. I have to say I felt bad about moving her around so much. I mean if you were sleeping and someone was moving you around you'd probably be upset (I'm just sayin haha). But she was a trooper. Stellla auntie loves you :)

Quicky Session

Unexpected photo shoots are always a great surprise. Anytime I don't have to pull someone in front of the camera I'm all for it. Like when my home girl Casandra called me up to get a couple of shoots one saturday. With no agenda we started the session with random conversation and a tale about her recent vegas trip. We only shot for about 20 minutes but I think we got some great shots. Cas claims she didn't know what she was doing in front of my camera, but I beg to differ.
